Wither you are working from home, or not working at all, these times of the unknown can be stressful and full of anxiety. If you are practicing social distancing or complete quarantine, things can easily get boring and feelings of insanity come creeping in (figuratively speaking)
Here are a few tips that you can use to help keep your mind and body healthy during these strange times
Get ready for the day
Just as you would when you would physically go into work, wake up at your normal time (maybe give yourself an hour extra of sleep!) Take a shower, do your hair, put on your makeup and get dressed. Being “ready” for the day will give you a sense of confidence and purpose. It is such an easy thing to do that will make a big difference.
Get some fresh air
Take a pause in your work (if you are working from home) and take a brisk walk or enjoy a cup of jo outside. Fresh air and sunshine does the soul good. Take your pets with you! Remember they are also in this with you
Use this time to start your spring cleaning. Clean out your closet, move your furniture to clean underneath, scrub your bathroom. A clean space is a happy space!
Move your body
While all gyms are closed (well at least they are here in NY) its important to still move your body. Many companies are offering free yoga, meditation and workouts on youtube. A quick 20 min sweat sesh can boost your mood (and your immunity!)
Read a book
Use this quiet time to catch up on your reading. If you don’t have access to any book stores due to closures, you can download the kindle app and read your books right from your phone. Or even try an audio book!
Create fun meals
Since you’ll have more time on your hands, use it to try out new recipes and fun meals for you and your family. Play around with new ingredients and different vegetables you haven’t used before
Hydration helps literally every system in your body. I love to use Liquid IV to stay hydrated (you can use code: NUTRITIONALBLONDE to save 20% off your order!)
Break out the board games
Isn’t it funny how we forget how FUN these games are? Break them out and get playing. Laugher cures all. (after all, you can only watch so much netflix)
